On May 7 1994, over a sloppy track, the 10:1 odds thoroughbred Go For Gin was ridden by, jockey, Chris McCarron and took a half-length lead by the half mile pole and never looked back. Go For Gin won the 120th running by two lengths at a time of 2:03:72.
Retiring at the Kentucky Horse Park as a guest favorite greeter, Go For Gin passed away as the oldest living Derby winner in 2022 at the age of 30. Cheers, Go For Gin!
